Every canvas holds a moment - a memory, a mood, a feeling

Kotuku
The beautiful White Heron holds a special place in New Zealand. I spotted one across the road from our driveway and decided to paint one surrounded by native bush standing in water. They are amazing at standing still while hunting for bugs or fish.
This is a stunning large piece at 760 x 1000 mm
Price: $2,000
Skippers Road
This is one of my favourite remote places, as long as I'm not driving. It's a very windy and narrow road, but absolutely stunning. If you can get all the way to the historic old Skippers settlement it is so worth the effort. Hot and dry in summer, snow and ice in winter, it's remote and extreme. Makes you feel a world away from everything.
Measures 760 x 500 mm
Price: $1,200

Braided River
I've been wanting to paint a heavy, deep sky at sunset for ages, but planned to go more abstract than my usual style. I had a fabulous photo of an intense sunset building, so went with it.
Measures 500 x 500 mm
Price: $900

Monkey Island Beach
Monkey Island is a beautiful beach on the south coast of the South Island, a place we used to play as kids growing up in Southland. It's great for swimming, a huge long beach for walking and has a cave you can explore.
You get the best skies rolling in that can change in minutes - full of drama and intensity.
Measures 1520 x 500 mm
Price: $1,200

Port Chalmers
This is from a photo I took looking out to Port Chalmers from Careys Bay. It was a calm evening and everything was still, including the usually busy port.
Measures 600 x 910 mm
Price: $1,800

Oraka
Oraka is the beach where I grew up in Southland, between Riverton and Colac Bay. It's a wild and windy place but stunning. Sandy beaches near the Colac end, stones and shells down the other end. It looks out across Foveaux Strait, to Stewart Island, Centre Island and the Bluff peninsula in the distance.
Measures 1520 x 500 mm
Price: $1,200

Mykonos Windmills
We stayed in Mykonos in 2025, and were blown away by the windmills overlooking the Old Town. The beautiful old structures with their thatched roofs have been lovingly restored, and make such a striking contrast looking out over the sea.
Measures 760 x 500 mm
Price: $1,200

Serpentine Sunset
Serpentine Beach is between Hokitika and Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island, and is the starting point of the Coast to Coast race. It looks out to the Tasman Sea, is often inhabited by man, dog and seals; not always an ideal combination. It has the most amazing unimpeded sunsets, and this is one of the first of many I plan to do in the various colours nature gifts us with.
Measures 500 x 500 mm
Price: $900

Twisted Trees
These windblown trees are a well-known feature of the southern coast in Southland where I grew up. They feel like they are leaning back in resistance against the prevailing south-westerly, which is pretty consistent. I love how they bear up no matter what happens.
Measures 760 x 300 mm
Price: $1,200

Stirling Point Sign
This is the iconic Bluff sign at Stirling Point at the bottom of the South Island. It is the last big signpost before you head off towards Antarctica (unless you stop in Stewart Island). It's a very cool spot. Wild and wooly.
Measures 500 x 500 mm
Price: $900
Flax
My parents grew this type of flax along their driveway. It's a stunning green and has very red flowers, a bit more vibrant than the normal variety. Tuis and bellbirds love it.
This painting has texture added behind the colour, to add to the impact of the leaves.
Measures 400 x 1010 mm
Price: $1,200
